LifeLink commences Just Checking trial
LifeLink has begun its trial of the Just Checking monitoring system that originated in the United Kingdom almost a decade ago. Just Checking monitors the movement of a person in their home with a series of small unobtrusive sensors and generates a chart of activity that is viewed online. The system helps people with dementia or poor memory to live independently in their own home by allowing family/carers or case mangers to view their daily movement patterns on an ‘as it occurs’ basis.
In the United Kingdom, 80% of UK local authorities use Just Checking for assessment and care planning, and thousands of professionals and family users log on each day. Feros Care’s Care Managers are using the Just Checking system to determine what telecare interventions could help to allow our clients to maintain quality of life and stay lively independant in their homes.
Feros Care is running its trial with clients in the Gold Coast/Tweed Heads region and so far has been met with a positive response from both family members and Care Managers alike. The trial is continuing through August 2013.
