What is Telecare?

LifeLink Telecare products and response service helps to minimise falls, medication errors and other mishaps or accidents in peoples own homes. LifeLink Telecare uses sensors and other devices which provide automated night lighting, movement sensors, voice reminders, pendants and triggers that can monitor and respond to emergencies which might occur in the home.

The heart of the system is the base alarm which can automatically raise an alert from any LifeLink Telecare sensor or personal radio trigger such as a pendant. The product range also includes automated sensors for smoke, water, gas, lighting and door exits.

Sensor products can detect a fall, or alert you or a family member to a lack of movement in the home.

Response Centre

In the event that an alert is raised to our Response Centre, LifeLink provides immediate 2-way hands free communication to the person in their home, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

LifeLink uses highly trained operators who can help solve problems over the speaker phone in the base alarm, alert neighbours or family to help, or call 000 emergency services when necessary. Also, the LifeLink operator will wait on the phone with you until help arrives.

How Does Telecare Work?

Step 1

Alert is raised
The user actively alerts the Response Centre using their base alarm or their personal alarm pendant. Alternatively, an automated alert is raised by any other installed sensors such as a fall detector.

Step 2

Speak to Response Centre operator
The user speaks to the Response Centre operator through the powerful hands free speaker on the base alarm. The range can be up to 50 metres from the base alarm.

Step 3

Response Centre operator organises help
The operator contacts the user’s designated family member, neighbour, carer or emergency services to provide appropriate help.

Step 4

Operator stays on the phone
Added reassurance as the operator stays on the phone until help arrives.

A smart home is created by combining LifeLink Telecare sensors and alarms to support people to live safely and independently in their home. As needs and circumstances change, the smart home has the flexibility to change the sensors and alarms to meet the new requirements.

“Dad is a fiercely independent person but I am pulled in so many directions, juggling my job, kids and trying to run my own household. I worry about him on his own at home. His health is not what it used to be and so I want the back up of knowing he can get help immediately. Telecare personal alarm and sensors provides this piece of mind.”“My husband has early dementia. He tends to forget to do things, gets distracted, forgets his pills or tries to wander from the house when I am in the garden or asleep. It was a constant worry for me that he might hurt himself or cause some sort of accident. I worried every time I went to the shops, even for an hour. By installing LifeLink Telecare’s base alarm, gas and water sensors plus a door sensor, I am so relieved that I can now go to the shops or for a coffee with a friend. It gives me peace of mind for a few hours if I am out and a better sleep.”
